Every day 45+ children will be diagnosed with cancer. Of every 5 children diagnosed, 1 child will die and 4 children will have long-term negative side effects from their treatment, because they are receiving treatment for adults. Yet, only 4% of federal research dollars go to childhood cancer research. Most people are not familiar with these staggering statistics, until they know a child with cancer. And that’s what motivated one dance studio, some committed dance moms and a group of young dancers in Ashburn, Virginia, who were determined to make a difference.
